Explore striking portraiture through the eyes of two distinct artists. In unFAMILIAR FACES, two creatives display unique approaches to abstracting the human face. 

Using paint and pastel, artist Sophia Cromartie focuses on portraiture that amplifies the details of a face through the use of color and texture. The works border on abstraction. Cromartie’s main goal in her art is to evoke emotion through the expression of common form. 

Intrigued by the human figure, artist Satysha Willowsong gravitates towards illustrating maidens immersed in a world where all potential realities exist. The artist enjoys experimenting with an array of different mediums including oil, watercolor, gouache and acrylic painting. Willowsong also works with multimedia and digital art, opening a wide arena of creative freedom.
